    Automated driving equivalent to Level 4 in urban areas requires advanced and autonomous recognition functions using on-board AI, as well as road facilities, communication facilities, and other infrastructure to support these functions. At the same time, the installation of road and communication facilities throughout Japan requires massive budgets, so it is necessary to study the minimum necessary infrastructure and recognition technologies. Therefore, in this project, for the purpose of advancing discussions of future cooperative areas, we conducted research and investigations on the recognition technologies and infrastructure that will be essential for automated driving systems through public road tests of automated vehicles, chiefly through universities and other organizations that are capable of publishing a certain amount of acquired data and the technologies used to acquire that data. Based on the knowledge gained from the public road tests, we investigated the factors and issues that cause recognition failures in (non-cooperative) automated driving systems, and evaluated the effectiveness of road traffic environment data provided by the infrastructure.

    Automated driving equivalent to level four in urban areas requires both advanced and autonomous recognition and decision making functions using on-board artificial intelligence (AI), as well as supporting infrastructure such as roadside and communication equipment. However, since installing such infrastructure throughout Japan would require a massive budget, the feasibility of using the bare minimum of infrastructure and recognition/decision-making technologies must be examined. Therefore, to stimulate discussions into future cooperative areas, this project is researching and investigating the infrastructure and recognition and decision making technologies that are absolutely necessary for automated driving systems through experiments on public roads by academic researchers who have been allowed a certain degree of disclosure of acquired data and the technologies.

    <p>This study proposes an intelligent pillow device that automatically changes its shape and stiffness to a comfortable condition for each user. The device is composed of multiple air bag actuators. The each actuator has contact pressure sensors and inner pressure sensors, which are necessary to control the pillow shape and the stiffness. We developed a prototype pillow device and measured the contact pressure distribution of head and neck in supine position. The pillow device shows a characteristic pressure distribution when a subject feels comfortable.</p>

    A pillow is an important item for sleep which effects on our quality of life. This study aims to establish a design method of a comfortable pillow shape for each individual from the shape of back head and neck (SBHN) in standing. This paper shows measurement tests of natural standing and lying position with a pillow. We made a measurement device of SBHN. Six subjects are measured their SBHN and head flexion angle in natural standing. In lying position, the subjects find their own best pillow from various height test pillows by sensory evaluation of comfortableness. We also measured the subjects' head flexion angle in each case of lying. There is a relationship between the SBHN depth in natural standing and the head flexion angle with the best pillow of each subject.

    A pillow is an important item for sleep which effects on our quality of life. This study aims to establish a design method of a comfortable pillow shape for each individual from the shape of back head and neck (SBHN) in standing. This paper shows measurement tests of natural standing and lying position with a pillow. We made a measurement device of SBHN. Six subjects are measured their SBHN and head flexion angle in natural standing. In lying position, the subjects find their own best pillow from various height test pillows by sensory evaluation of comfortableness. We also measured the subjects' head flexion angle in each case of lying. There is a relationship between the SBHN depth in natural standing and the head flexion angle with the best pillow of each subject.

    <p>This study aims to develop an intelligent bed which can control body pressure distribution adaptively. This bed is actuated by multi-flexible bags. This bed is controlled by air pressure conjugated with a body simulator. This report describes basic experiments with multi-flexible bags and a fundamental body simulator. These bags realized high pressure resistance and we verified experiment of feedback control by using inner pressure sensors. For development of the body simulator, we examined a simple dynamic model to obtain body pressure distribution and body posture in lying position.</p>

    This study aims to develop comfortable and ergonomic pillows that accommodate to anatomical differences between individuals. This report describes our proposed method to measure the shape of the back of head and neck. This study improved the existing head shape measuring instrument. The new instrument enables to digitize the shape data of the back of head and neck. Relative positions between head and trunk were also measured from coordinates of four indicator points in picture, with several standing and supine postures. A difference is clearly found on the shape of the back of head and neck, and on the relative position between individuals. This result suggests that suitable pillow shape will change depending on the mechanical characteristics for each subject.

    自動運転の研究において,車載センサ(カメラ,LiDAR,ミリ波レーダ,GPS等)の観測情報から車両周囲の状況をリアルタイムに認識する技術の実現が重要な要素技術である.多くの交通参加者が混在する市街地道路の自動運転では,周囲の交通参加者の動きや意図を考慮した自車の運転行動の生成が必要である.周囲の車や横断する歩行者・自転車などの動きを考慮することで衝突を避けた安全な運転行動が生成可能となる.以上より,本研究課題では,2020年度から2022年度までの3年間で,交差点走行における行動予測として顕在的な物体の動き及び潜在的な動きの変化を考慮した予測技術を実現する.各物体間の相互作用をモデル化したミクロな行動予測と,環境周辺の動きを俯瞰的に予測するマクロな行動予測技術を開発する.2021年度では以下の内容について研究を行った.
    <BR>
    ・自車周辺の周辺交通参加者の状態を俯瞰的に予測するために動的占有格子地図を実装し,深層学習により動的占有講師地図の将来の状態を予測する学習に取り組んだ.学習によるネットワークの入力情報の違いによる予測精度への効果を検証することで,センサによる観測情報だけでなく,周辺の地図情報などの情報を付与することで歩行者等の予測精度を改善できることを検証した.
    <BR>
    ・車載カメラで市街地走行中の歩行者データを撮影し,その計測データを用いて歩行者行動予測手法の改善に取り組んだ.歩行者移動モデルを用いた移動軌跡のトラッキングにおいて,姿勢の推定精度を改善するためのアルゴリズムを検討した.歩行者の運動状態を推定するに当たり,画像矩形枠だけでなく関節位置を考慮した人体の歩行・関節角を推定する方法を開発することで,人体全体の方向を比較的適切に推定できるようにした.
