    近年、絶対零度の系の部分系は有限温度系のように見えること(canonical typicality)や、その現象が全系のエンタングルメントに関連していることが明らかになっており、有限温度系の理解の深化のためにもエンタングルメントの解析が重要になってきている。このような流れの中で、今年度は従来の研究計画を更に発展させ、熱平衡状態の量子シミュレーション等を目的とした純粋状態の量子情報処理への応用可能性や、熱平衡状態を用いた量子計算の可能性を追求する研究を行った。前者は多体エンタングルメントに関連した物理現象の探索に繋がり、後者は、有限温度量子系の応用可能性を追求した研究となっている。
    具体的にはまず、昨年度提唱した位相ランダム状態アンサンブル(P.R.S.E.)の量子情報処理への応用可能性を考察した。P.R.S.E.は、孤立系で発現する純粋状態の典型的な性質を解析することを一義的目標として提案された。今年度はP.R.S.E.を量子情報処理へ応用することを目的とし、量子回路を用いたP.R.S.E.の近似的生成方法を構築し、更に、P.R.S.E.と古典処理を組み合わせて、ヒルベルト空間に一様に分布するランダム状態アンサンブル(R.S.E.)を近似する方法も発見した。R.S.E.はcanonical typicalityに関連し、熱平衡状態の量子シミュレーションを可能にするため、本結果は有限温度系の理解に役立つ。
    今年度は更に、有限温度下の量子計算のエラー耐性を高める研究も行った。量子計算を実行する際には熱雑音に起因する熱的エラーが大きなエラー源となっていたが、量子多体協力現象を活用することで量子計算中の熱的エラーを抑えられることを発見した。具体的には、量子計算を行う系の温度が相転移温度以下であれば熱的エラーを必ず訂正できることが分かり、従来研究に比べて遥かに高い温度での量子計算が可能であることを示した。本結果は、多体系の協力現象が量子計算にも有益であることを示しており、多体物理学と量子情報の関係をより緊密にしたという点でも極めて有意義な研究である。
