    The fifth version of Japanese Evaluated Nuclear Data Library, JENDL-5, was developed. JENDL-5 aimed to meet a variety of needs not only from nuclear reactors but also from other applications such as accelerators. Most of the JENDL special purpose files published so far were integrated into JENDL-5 with revisions. JENDL-5 consists of 11 sublibraries: (1) Neutron, (2) Thermal scattering law, (3) Fission product yield, (4) Decay data, (5) Proton, (6) Deuteron, (7) Alpha-particle, (8) Photonuclear, (9) Photo-atomic, (10) Electro-atomic, and (11) Atomic relaxation. The neutron reaction data for a large number of nuclei in JENDL-4.0 were updated ranging from light to heavy ones, including major and minor actinides which affect nuclear reactor calculations. In addition, the number of nuclei of neutron reaction data stored in JENDL-5 was largely increased; the neutron data covered not only all of naturally existing nuclei but also their neighbor ones with half-lives longer than 1 day. JENDL-5 included the originally evaluated data of thermal scattering law and fission product yield for the first time. Light charged-particle and photon-induced reaction data were also included for the first time as the JENDL general purpose file.

    We elucidated the reason why the average total kinetic energy (TKE) of fission fragments decreases when the
    excitation energy of the fissioning systems increase as indicated by experimental data for the neutron-induced
    fission events. To explore this problem, we used a method based on the four-dimensional Langevin equations we
    have developed.We have calculated the TKE of fission fragments for fissioning systems 236U∗ and 240Pu∗ excited
    above respective fission barriers, and compared the results with experimental data for n + 235U and n + 239Pu
    reactions, respectively. From the Langevin-model analysis, we have found that the shape of the abundant heavy
    fragments changes from almost spherical for low excitation domain to highly prolate shape for high excitation
    energy, while that of the light fragments does not change noticeably. The change of the “shape” of the heavy
    fragments causes an increase of a distance between the charge centers of the nascent fragments just after scission
    as excitation energy increases. Accordingly, the Coulomb repulsion between the two fragments decreases with
    an increase of the excitation energy, which causes the decrease of the average TKE. In this manner, we found
    that the change of the shape of the heavy fragment as a function of the excitation energy is the key issue for
    the TKE of fission fragments to decrease as the excitation energy of the fissioning nuclei increases. In other
    words, washing out of the shell effects, which affect the shape of the heavy fragments is the key reason for the
    decreasing energy dependence of the average TKE of the fission fragments.

    Uncertainty in neutron dose after penetrating a 3-m-thick concrete was estimated based on
    three different kinds of Total Monte Carlo methods under random sampling methodology. A
    thousand random nuclear data files were generated for 28Si by T6 by perturbing underlying
    model parameters. In the first method, these files were used directly to yield processed library
    preserving all the correlations among different physical quantities. In the second method, a
    covariance file in the ENDF-6 format was generated and 1000 random files were produced
    based on the covariance file. In the third method, the random files populated by T6 were used
    but the angular distribution data were kept fixed to non-perturbed nominal ones. It was found
    that the second and third methods gave equivalent variance of the neutron dose after deep
    penetration of a concrete, and this uncertainty was larger than the uncertainty given by the
    first method. It shows that the correlation between total cross section and angular distribution
    of elastic scattering affects uncertainty of the calculated neutron dose. It could be concluded

    A new concept of transmutation system for six long-lived fission products (LLFPs: 79Se, 93Zr, 99Tc, 107Pd, 129I, and 135Cs) consisting of three small-size fast reactor cores was proposed.
    In order to establish a method to estimate the effects of cross-section uncertainties on the transmutation
    rates of the LLFPs, cross section covariances for the six LLFPs were estimated using a T6 system which includes resonance and statistical models via propagation of model uncertainties, and the uncertainties of transmutation rates and support factors of the six LLFPs in the three fast reactors were estimated based on a Total Monte Carlo (TMC) method. It was made clear that some of the transmutation rates of these LLFPs have large uncertainties indicating that the accuracy of cross sections for them is not enough, and hence the strategy for efficient transmutation may have to
    be reconstructed. It is concluded that the T6 system and the TMC method used in this study are quite effective not only to estimate the uncertainties of cross sections but also to assess the effect
    of error propagation throughout the series of calculations conducting in this study.

    We investigate double $\Lambda$ hyperfragment formation from the statistical decay of double $\Lambda$ compound nuclei produced in the $\Xi^-$ absorption at rest in the light nuclei $^{12}\mathrm{C}$, $^{14}\mathrm{N}$, and $^{16}\mathrm{O}$. We examine the target and the $\Lambda\Lambda$ bond energy dependence of the double $\Lambda$ hyperfragment formation probabilities, especially of those double hypernuclei observed in experiments. For the $^{12}\mathrm{C}$ ($^{14}\mathrm{N}$) target, the formation probabilities of $^{\,\;\;6}_{\Lambda\Lambda}\mathrm{He}$ and $^{\;10}_{\Lambda\Lambda}\mathrm{Be}$ ($^{\;13}_{\Lambda\Lambda}\mathrm{B}$) are found to be reasonably large as they are observed in the KEK-E373 (KEK-E176) experiment. By comparison, for the $^{16}\mathrm{O}$ target, the formation probability of $^{\;11}_{\Lambda\Lambda}\mathrm{Be}$ is calculated to be small with $\Delta B_{\Lambda\Lambda}$ consistent with the Nagara event. We also evaluate the formation probability of ${}^{\,\;\;5}_{\Lambda\Lambda}\mathrm{H}$ from a $\Xi^-$–${}^{6}\mathrm{He}$ bound state, ${}^{7}_{\Xi}\mathrm{H}$.

    Nuclear equation of state (EoS) plays an important role in understanding the formation of compact objects such as neutron stars and black holes. The true nature of the EoS has been a matter of debate at any density range not only in the nuclear physics but also in the astronomy and astrophysics. We have constructed a database of EoSs by compiling data from the literature. Our database contains the basic properties of the nuclear EoS of symmetric nuclear matter and of pure neutron matter. It also includes the detailed information about the theoretical models, for example the adopted methods and assumptions in individual models. The novelty of the database is to consider new experimental probes such as the symmetry energy, its slope relative to the baryon density, and the incompressibility, which enables the users to check their model dependences. We demonstrate the performance of the EOSDB through the examinations of the model dependence among different nuclear EoSs. It is reveled that some theoretical EoSs, which is commonly used in astrophysics, do not satisfactorily agree with the experimental

    We study the gravitational collapse of non-rotating massive stars (40-50Modot;) and the associated neutrino burst by general relativistic v-radiation hydrodynamics. We show that the neutrino burst from the accreting proto-neutron star till the black hole formation is short and energetic in a situation of failed explosion. This unique characteristics is a hallmark of black hole formation and distinguishable from the neutrino signal of ordinary supernovae. Adopting the sets of physical equation of state of dense matter, we demonstrate that the duration of neutrino emission depends crucially on the equation of state. Future detection of neutrinos from the failed supernovae can be used to probe the stiffness of dense matter with possible emergence of hyperons. Speaker. ?     We propose a new nucleosynthesis process in which various nuclei are formed
    through the liquid-gas phase transition of supernova matter as a preprocess of
    the standard r-process, and study its possibility of realization qualitatively.
    In the relativistic mean field and statistical model calculations, we find
    that this process may take place and help the later r-process to proceed.

    It is a long standing problem in nuclear physics and astrophysics to determine the nuclear EoS, which is important in many astrophysical applications, such as simulations of supernova explosions and the constraint of the maximum mass of neutron stars. There are hundreds of published papers dealing with nuclear EoSs, while more than ten nuclear EoS tables are available in tabulated form. In spite of many published EOSs, only a small number of datasets are used in the astrophysical applications. Thus we have constructed a database for nuclear EoSs &quot;EOSDB&quot; which contains information about nuclear theory, HIC experimental analysis, and the observations of NSs relevant to the EoS. The EOSDB is a powerful online tool to investigate the model dependence of a huge number of EoSs, not only for theoretical studies but also for experimental and observational constraints. Users of the EOSDB can compare EoSs, download numerical data, and obtain the details of the method adopted in the original papers. ?     炉心設計からバックエンドまで原子力利用全分野における核分裂とその関連諸量の重要性は自明であり、その充実と信頼性向上の要請は核物理分野に向けられる。しかしその全過程においては、ほぼ経時順に①核力、②電磁気力、③弱い力と、自然界の四つの基本力のうち三つまでもが支配要因となり、この多様性が全過程の通貫した理解を妨げている。本研究では、異なった物理に支配される核分裂全過程を、一貫性を保持しつつ最新の物理理論で扱い、複合核の形成後その分断に至る核分裂ダイナミックスから遅発中性子放出の終了までを鳥瞰する視野を確立し、その成果に基づく核分裂核データ導出の基盤構築と得られたデータの提供を目標とする。

    令和4年度の研究計画ではランジュバン模型による核分裂の物理シミュレーションを実施し、その結果として得られる核分裂片の質量収率や全運動エネルギーの情報をJAEAで開発しているCCONEコードなどの脱励起過程を記述するモデルに受け渡すことで、複合核形成以降の一連の核分裂過程を一貫性を保ちつつ記述できるスキームを構築することが大きな目標であった。もう1つの令和4年度の目標は、ランジュバン模型で得られる核分裂に至るまでに複合核形状の時間発展の情報を機械学習を用いて解析することで核分裂メカニズムに関する新たな知見を引き出すことであった。

    核分裂過程を一貫性を保ちつつ記述できるスキームの構築は令和4年度の研究期間を二か月延長したことにより、計画どおり完了することができた。また核分裂メカニズムの解明を目指した機械学習によるランジュバン計算の解析は、従来手法と一線を画した様々な手法や指標を組み合わせて実施することができた。

    Nuclear fission of super heavy nuclei (SHN) is experimentally very challenging to know. Such fission of SHN plays an essential role in the r-process nucleosynthesis during neutron star mergers. However, various theoretical models predict the conflicting fission ways, i.e., symmetric, asymmetric, double asymmetric, etc. So, we developed a fission model that can survey which fission ways are the most probable by comparing the fission model with the r-process simulations and its related observations. Our fission model uses theoretical nuclear models that can well reproduce nuclear fissions in actinides where experimental data is abundant. To enhance the reliability of our model's output information on the fission ways, we successfully refined each model part, such as fission yield, hydrodynamical, and nucleosynthesis models. We need extra time to examine unexpected discoveries on the fission mechanisms. But we achieved to connect newly-developed fission yields to nucleosynthesis.

    Neutron star physics has been studied from the view points of multi-component high-density matter, neutron-rich nuclear matter, and compact star astrophysics. Achievements are published in around 370 papers, which include cooperation works with experiments such as, the prediction of the anti-K nucleus binding energy and its confirmation, determination of hyperon-nucleus potential using hyperon production data, constraint on Lambda-Lambda potential using momentum correlation from heavy-ion collisions, predictions of low-energy E1 strength and its relation to neutron skin thickness, prediction of the pi-/pi+ ratio from neutron rich nuclear collisions, constraints on symmetry energy parameters using the cold atom EOS, construction of new ab initio EOS table applicable to compact star phenomena, constraints on the symmetry energy parameter using torsional oscillation of neutron stars.
