    本研究の目的は,液滴サイズ調整機構と冷凍機構を備え持つプローブを開発し,凍結現象によるマニピュレート手法を実現することである.既に液滴プローブを用いたマニピュレーションも存在するが,液架橋力は非常に小さいため,把持対象は小さいものに限られていた.液状の高分子が化学反応により硬化することで接着強度を発現するのと同じように,水は氷になることで接着剤として機能する.したがって,液架橋形成後に水・氷の相変化を起こせば,非常に大きな把持力を得られると考えられる.また,一般的な接着剤と異なり,水・氷の相変化は可逆であるため,脱離も可能である.水を使うことで,対象物を傷つけることがない点も魅力的である.一方で,確実なマニピュレートを実現するための課題も多い.そこで本研究では,最終目標の実現へ向け,液滴のサイズを調整する機構をマニピュレータ先端に持たせることで供給レスな液架橋形成システムを検討する,凍結現象による接着力変化の評価法を確立するなど様々な課題の解決を目指す.初年度は,凍結現象への理解を深めるために,様々な対象物に対して氷との界面の強度を測定する装置を作成し,被着体の種類や表面状態による強度変化の測定を行える環境を整えた.対象物の種類やサイズが異なると,熱伝導率の差で氷の形成時間に違いが生まれたり,液滴のサイズによっても破壊モードが変化したりするなど,氷を用いて物体を把持する際の課題が明らかにされた.

    In this study, the adhesive force controlling method utilizing the structures has been investigated to create an object manipulation system with adhesion control. By creating adhesive devices and carrying out experiments of adhesion force measurements, a possibility of adhesion force control was suggested. Then, based on the results, small size adhesive devices were designed. By devising the structure, the pick-and-place mechanism with simple input was developed, and we succeeded to manipulate a flat and lightweight plate using the developed adhesive device.

    In this study, influence of the structure inclination of a reversible adhesion type gecko inspired device incorporating the characteristics of micro/nano-structures of gecko foot hairs was clarified from both theoretical and experimental point of view. In addition, possibility of manipulation using the developed adhesive device was discussed. Specifically, manufacturing process of micro inclined structure on the surface of the devices was first investigated. By the proposed method, adhesive devices with various tip shapes were produced. From the adhesive force measurements using these devices, the effect of inclination of the structure on the adhesion force variation, and the effect of tip shape on the absorption of the surface roughness were investigated. Additionally, object manipulation using the produced adhesive device was succeeded based on these results.

    In this research, adhesion and detachment mechanisms of geckos' foot hairs, which have a great ability of attachment and detachment to rough surfaces, have been investigated analytically and experimentally. Additionally, the applicability of the mechanisms to adhesive grip-and-release devices has been discussed. The hairs are assumed to be inclined beams, side surface of which adheres to the surface of a rigid, and the adhesion force and detachment process were analyzed. It was investigated that the control of normal and tangential forces was important for the detachment process. Attachment and detachment of the inclined adhesive beams were experimentally verified.

    本研究課題は, 生物の優れた特徴からヒントを得た凝着モデルによる把持脱離メカニズムの解明とその応用を目的としている. ヤモリなどの生物は, 手足の微細毛構造が物体表面に凝着することにより自身の体重を支えるのに十分な把持力を得ている. 微細毛構造による凝着現象の理解は, 凝着力を利用した把持脱離デバイスの設計の上で非常に有用であるとされる. ヤモリの手足先端に生えるSpatulaと呼ばれるナノサイズの毛はヘラ状であり, 毛の側面が凝着していると考えられている. ヤモリのSpatulaをヒントにし, 片持ち弾性梁の側面が平面基盤に凝着する梁側面凝着モデルを考案し, 理論・実験による検討を行った. 表面界面の自由エネルギーと弾性エネルギーの平衡条件より梁側面が凝着している状態で梁に働く力が導出され, 着脱時のヒステリシスが凝着力へ及ぼす影響が議論された. 更に, 弾性梁着脱プロセスの工夫による凝着力制御の可能性を検討するために梁の動きに注目し, 検討が行われた. ヤモリは素早い動きの中で把持脱離を繰り返すために複雑な足の動きをしていると考えられるが, 動きの中で微細毛に働く摩擦の向きをうまく利用し着脱しているとされる. 本研究では, 梁構造物に働く摩擦の向きが凝着力へ及ぼす影響を理論的に評価した. 摩擦の有無により, 梁の変形が影響を受ける. その結果, 弾性梁に働く摩擦が圧縮方向の場合に比べ引張方向の場合基盤垂直方向に働く凝着力が増大することが示された.
