    高エネルギー加速器研究機構(KEK)物質構造科学研究所(以下「物構研」)の元素戦略・電子材料研究グループは、東京工業大学(以下「東工大」)応用セラミックス研究所の飯村壮史(いいむらそうし)助教、同大学フロンティア研究機構・元素戦略研究センター細野秀雄(ほそのひでお)教授、松石聡(まついしさとる)准教授と共同で、マルチプローブの手法を用いて鉄系超伝導物質であるLaFeAs(O1-xHx)の磁気的な性質および構造を調べ、水素置換濃度xが0.4を超える領域で微細な構造変化を伴う新たな磁気秩序相が現れることを発見しました。この磁気秩序相は、同物質において2012年に明らかになった第二の超伝導相と隣接しており、従来知られていた母物質(x=0)における磁気秩序相とも質的に異なることから、もう一つの母物質が見出されたことになり、新たな超伝導機構解明の有力な手がかりとなることが期待されます。

    Abstract

    Oxyhydrides have attracted attention as materials with various unique properties derived from lattice hydride ions (H). However, their instability makes synthesis by conventional thermal synthesis methods difficult, so an appropriate synthesis strategy is required. Here, the mechanochemical synthesis of perovskite oxyhydrides BaREO2H (RE = Y, Sc) for catalyst applications is reported. The formation of BaYO2H is known to be thermodynamically unstable; however, a mechanochemical process that inevitably proceeds under non‐equilibrium conditions enables the synthesis of such a metastable oxyhydride material without any heat treatment. Furthermore, BaScO2H, which is typically obtained at very high temperatures (1000 °C) and pressure (>4 GPa), is successfully synthesized at room temperature by the mechanochemical method. The ammonia synthesis reaction over these oxyhydrides supporting Ru is significantly enhanced at low temperatures, and the ammonia synthesis rates are significantly higher than conventional oxide‐supported Ru catalysts. The mechanochemically synthesized BaREO2H has many anionic electrons with low work function at the site of H vacancies, which enables strong electron donation to Ru and the storage of excess hydrogen adatoms from the Ru surface that results in high catalytic performance.

    <p>We investigated the electronic states of hydrogen in the transparent oxide semiconductor InGaZnO4 (IGZO) using elementary particle muons (Mu) as a light isotope of hydrogen. From the combination of the relaxation rate Δ in Kubo-Toyabe function observed by the muon spin rotation method and the simulation of hydrogen by the first-principles calculation, it was clarified that the muon in the crystalline IGZO and the amorphous thin film IGZO occupies Zn-O bind center position. By analogy with ZnO, it is suggested that the corresponding hydrogen acts as a donor. In contrast, Lorentz-type spectra observed in the hydrogenated thin film IGZO show that some muons exist as MuH at oxygen vacancy positions.</p>

    Iron-based superconductors can be categorized as two types of parent<br />
    compounds by considering the nature of their temperature-induced phase<br />
    transitions; namely, first order transitions for 122- and 11-type compounds and<br />
    second-order transitions for 1111-type compounds. This work examines the<br />
    structural and magnetic transitions (ST and MT) of CaFeAsH by specific heat,<br />
    X-ray diffraction, neutron diffraction, and electrical resistivity<br />
    measurements. Heat capacity measurements revealed a second-order phase<br />
    transition accompanies an apparent single peak at 96 K. However, a clear ST<br />
    from the tetragonal to orthorhombic phase and a MT from the paramagnetic to<br />
    antiferromagnetic phase were detected. The structural (Ts) and N\&#039;eel<br />
    temperatures (TN) were respectively determined to be 95(2) and 96 K by X-ray<br />
    and neutron diffraction and resistivity measurements. This small temperature<br />
    difference, Ts - TN, was attributed to strong magnetic coupling in the<br />
    inter-layer direction owing to CaFeAsH having the shortest lattice constant c<br />
    among parent 1111-type iron arsenides. Considering that a first-order<br />
    transition takes place in 11- and 122-type compounds with a short inter-layer<br />
    distance, we conclude that the nature of the ST and MT in CaFeAsH is<br />
    intermediate in character, between the second-order transition for 1111-type<br />
    compounds and the first-order transition for other 11- and 122-type compounds.

    Electrical resistivity and magnetic susceptibility measurements under high pressure were performed on iron-based superconductor LaFePO and LaFeAsO1-<italic>x</italic>F<italic>x</italic>system. A steep increase in superconducting transition temperature (<italic>T</italic>c) was observed for LaFePO and "optimum-doped" and "over-doped" LaFeAsO1-<italic>x</italic>F<italic>x</italic>. Pressure-induced superconductivity was confirmed in undoped LaFeAsO and SrFe2As2by electrical resistivity measurements under high pressure. X-ray diffraction measurements were also performed under high pressure up to 10 GPa for LaFePO and LaFeAsO1-<italic>x</italic>F<italic>x</italic>system, where the anisotropic decrease of the lattice constants was observed with applying pressure.

    We have extended the material concept of electrides (electrides), explored new properties, and applied them to new applications. The concept of electrides, which had been limited to materials based on bulk electron-deficient ionic crystals, was successfully extended to surfaces, neutral and electron-rich types, and intermetallic compounds. In terms of new properties, we discovered that 1D electrides are Mott-type insulators, 2D electrides can be a platform for topological materials, ferromagnetism mediated by anion electrons in rare-earth carbide electrides, and electrides that are stable even in water. In the application, we found that amorphous electride thin films are excellent as electron injection layer materials for OLEDs due to their low work function and high transparency, and that cobalt-based intermetallic compound electrides and surface electrides, nickel-supported cerium nitrides, show high activity as ammonia synthesis catalysts without ruthenium.

    We have attempted to create innovative functions unique to mixed anion compounds, targeting applications in photocatalysts and photoelectrodes, secondary battery components, phosphors, and electronic materials. In the study of energy-conversion-type photocatalysts, we found that anion-doped titanium dioxide, layered oxynitrides, and oxyfluorides, which had not been candidates for investigation due to technical issues and preconceptions, could be new visible light responsive photocatalysts. Some of the anion-doped oxides were also shown to be effective as secondary battery materials. For phosphor materials, we have established a guideline for controlling excitation and emission wavelengths that is not limited to material systems through band control by anion coexistence. In the study of electronic materials, unique electronic properties associated with complex anionization were observed in many systems.

    The effect of electron doping on ZrCuSiAs-type LaZnAsO via hydride ion substitution to oxygen site was investigated. The substitution limit of hydrogen was determined to be < 25% and the insulator to metal transition was observed at the nominal hydrogen content between 20% to 25%. By applying the hydrogen-manganese co-substitution to LaZnAsO, the weak ferromagnetism was observed. The detailed magnetic measurement, the photoelectron emission spectroscopy and the density functional theory calculation for LaMnAsO1-xHx system indicated that the antiferromagnetic insulator to ferromagnetic metal transition via hydrogen-substitution is induced by direct interaction among Mn 3d electrons forming conduction band.

    本年度はC12A7エレクトラドおよびその関連物質のエレクトライドの合成、物性、およびデバイスへの応用を検討した。得られた成果は以下のようにまとめられる。
    (1)電子濃度を2x10^<21>cm^<-3>までドープしたエレクトラド粉末がC12A7+CA+金属Caというプロセスで合成することができた。
    (2)C12A7エレクトライド単結晶の熱起電力と熱伝導度を測定し、後者はアモルファス様なT2依存性を示し、その値はCaOやAl2O3結晶よりも桁で低いことを見出しいた。
    (3)27Al-NMRのKnightシフトとT-1の温度依存性から、非架橋酸素に結合したAlサイトは金属的性格を、それ以外のサイトは絶縁体的挙動を示すことを見出した。
    (4)C12A7エレクトライドをカソードとし、Cu_<2-x>Seをアノードとする逆構造型のOLEDを試作し、従来のAl/ITOの電極よりも顕著に低電圧で駆動することを明らかにした。
    (5)C12A7および12SrO・7Al_2O_3エレクトライドのエピタキシャル薄膜を合成することに成功した。

    1.電子常磁性共鳴(EPR)を駆使することにより、ナノポーラス結晶12CaO・7Al_2O_3(C12A7)中の活性酸素O_2^-の包接状態およびそのダイナミックスについて解析を行った。本研究ではCW-EPRに加え、パルスEPRを使うことでO_2^-周辺の中距離構造に関する知見を得た。また単結晶試料を用いることにより、O_2^-の結晶内における配向を決定することに成功した。さらに酸素を磁性核である^<17>O_2(I=5/2天然存在比0.038%)に置換することで、O_2^-中の^<17>Oによる超微細分裂を観測し、O_2^-であることの決定的同定を行った。こうして得られたデータの解析から、O_2^-はC12A7中のケージに包接されており、ケージの壁のCa^<2+>イオンに吸着していることが分かった。20K以下ではO_2^-はほぼ静止しており、温度の上昇に伴い回転を始める。ただしCa^<2+>との結合を切る形での運動は抑制されており、異方性の回転となっている。
    2.C12A7のケージに包接されている酸素イオン(O^<2->)を化学処理により完全に抜き去ることで、ケージの中に電子を包接させ、電子が陰イオンとして振舞う結晶"エレクトライド"を合成することができる。エレクトライドはゆるく束縛された大量の電子を包接していることから、電子ビーム源としての応用が期待されていた。本研究では、C12A7エレクトライドを冷電子放出源として利用することで、室温での電界電子放出に成功した。
    3.C12A7に電子が低濃度に包接された場合(〜10^<19>cm^<-3>)、電子はケージのひずみを伴ってポーラロンを形成し、これが隣接するケージ間をホッピングすることで伝導性が生じていると考えられてきた。これを確かめるため、テラヘルツ時間領域分光法により、テラヘルツ周波数領域でのキャリア応答を調べたところ、複素電気伝導度がホッピング伝導を示すJonscher則に従うことがわかった。
