    A positive Mu is a useful tool for investigating the spin density of radical species. The theoretical estimation of its behavior in a molecule requires the inclusion of a quantum effect due to the small mass of muonium. Herein, we performed ab initio a path integral molecular dynamics (PIMD) simulation, which accurately included a multi-dimensional quantum effect, for muoniated 9H-xanthene-9-thione (μXT). Our results showed that the quantum effect significantly increased the hyperfine coupling constant (HFCC) value of μXT, which qualitatively improved the calculated HFCC value, compared to the experimental one. In the PIMD simulation, the bond length between muonium and sulfur in μXT is longer than that between hydrogen and sulfur in a hydrogenated 9H-xanthene-9-thione (HXT), leading to a spin density transfer from XT (9H-xanthene-9-thione) to muonium due to neutral dissociations. Additionally, we found that the S-Mu bond in μXT prefers a structure perpendicular to the molecular plane, where the interaction between Mu and the singly occupied molecular orbital of μXT is the strongest. These structural changes resulted in a larger HFCC value in the PIMD simulation of μXT.

    The 1,3,6-Triphosphafulvene showed regioselective reactivity toward alkyllithiums at the external phosphorus atom to afford the corresponding phosphinodiphospholide anions. The diphospholide anions were allowed to react with alkyl halides to yield the corresponding phosphinodiphospholes. On the other hand, the generated phosphinodiphospholide anions were allowed to react with acetic acid to afford the diphosphacyclopentadienylidenephosphoranes, which are phosphorus ylides bearing a P-H bond. Alternatively, reaction of the 1,3,6-triphosphafulvene with tetrafluoroboric acid afforded the phosphorus ylide bearing a P-H bond. The structure of the phosphorus ylide was analyzed by crystallography and was discussed. Additionally, we studied reactivity of 6-phosphafulvene to compare with the property of 1,3,6-triphosphfulvene. Furthermore, a 3,4-dihydro-1,3,4-triphosphacyclopenta[a]indene was isolated in the reaction to obtain the 1,3,6-triphosphafulvene.

    かさ高い2,4,6-トリ-t-ブチルフェニル基で速度論的に安定化された1,3,6-トリホスファフルベンに求核試薬を反応させると、環外の6位のリン原子が求核攻撃を受けて対応するジホスホリルアニオンを与え、これに求電子試薬としてヨウ化メチルを加えると、5員環内の1位リン原子がメチル化されることを見いだした。また、トリホスファフルベンは一電子還元剤によっても還元反応を受けることを見いだした。これらの性質は、炭素類縁体であるフルベンと同様なものである。

    本研究は、高周期カルボニル基への位置選択的なミュオニウム付加を活用し、通常の化学的手法では同定・解析が困難のためにこれまで検討例の極めて少なかった、拡張パイ共役開殻分子種の創出を目的とする。
    2023年度は、チオベンゾフェノンを飽和炭素鎖で配座固定した形式である7員環のチオジベンゾスベロンと、チオジベンゾスベロンの7員環を8員環に拡大させた環状チオケトンの固体状態でのLCR(ミュオン準位交差共鳴)測定を実施し、そのデータを解析した。その結果、7員環と8員環構造をもつチオケトンにミュオニウムが付加した状態の常磁性分子構造には有意な違いがあることがわかり、二つのベンゼン環の共役の度合いと関連していることがわかった。さらに、その常磁性分子構造の室温以下での温度変化が顕著に異なっており、7員環よりも8員環構造のほうが大きな温度変化を示した。この温度変化も共役の度合いと関連していると考えられる。その一方で、チオトロポンにふたつのベンゼン環をC=C構造で橋かけした構造であるチオジベンゾスベレノンを新たに合成してLCRを実施したところ、共役の度合いを反映したデータを確認した一方で、過去の結果とは異なるミュオン超微細結合定数(hfc)が観測され、マイナー成分の常磁性種はほとんど観測されなかった。溶液状態での分光測定では過去の試料との違いが見られなかったことから、合成過程での処理のちがいに由来する固体状態での多形の影響が示唆された。また、チオジベンゾスベレノンのミュオニウム付加体において別の異性体が生成している可能性も見出した。
    この他、チオホルムアミドの溶液および固体状態ではミュオニウム付加体の構造が顕著に異なること等を明らかにしたミュオン分光研究の結果をまとめた。また、イソニトリルのミュオニウム付加の反応動力学に関するミュオン分光研究の結果をまとめた。

    Multiple bonds involving heavier main-group elements are normally unstable, because bond lengths between the two elements are long and because effective overlap of □-orbitals cannot be expected due to the wide orbital lobes. Furthermore, hybridization of orbitals is not effective in higher elements causing multiple bonds of such elements to be unstable. By introducing a very bulky group into the systems, however, we have been able to isolate unusual phosphorus-containing compounds, where the phosphorus atoms are in low coordination states.
    In this research project, protection groups, such as the 2,4,6-tri-t-butylphenyl group, have been utilized in the stabilization of low coordinated phosphorus compounds of coordination number 1 and 2. Compounds thus protected were isolated, characterized, and the structures were analyzed by multinuclear NMR spectroscopy and X-ray crystallography.
    1)Novel protection groups, which are useful in studies of substitution effects, both steric and electronic, have been developed for preparation of diphosphenes, phosphaallenes, diphosphinidenecyclobutenes, and phosphaalkynes.
    2)Cis-diphosphenes, phosphaallenes, thioxophosphines, and phosphaquinoid compounds were prepared and characterized by use of novel steric protection groups.
    3)Diphosphacyclobutenes and biradical species, diphosphacyclobutanediyls, were prepared and isolated by the reaction of phosphaalkynes with alkyllithium reagents.
    4)Sterically protected phosphaethenylcarbenoids were generated and the various reactivities were studied involving the formation of phosphaalkynes, diphosphabutatrienes, diphosphabutadienes, triphosphafulvenes, and diphosphafulvenes. The structures were analyzed mostly by X-ray crystallography.
    5)Various kinds of diphosphinidenecyclobutenes were prepared and the transition metal complexes were formed. The catalytic activities in the coupling reactions were investigated to show that they are effective catalysts.
