    Carbon capture is a promising technology for carbon dioxide (CO2) removal from large stationary CO2 sources. The effects of carbon dioxide capture process on output efficiency of fossil power plants were investigated. Supercritical pulverized coal and integrated coal gasification combined cycle (IGCC) were assumed as model coal-fired power plants for this investigation. Heat-driven and pressure-driven CO2 capture processes such as chemical absorption and physical adsorption were assumed for CO2 capture process. In this study, these technologies were evaluated and compared under the unified basis and conditions by using the commercial process simulator. For IGCC plant, the efficiency penalty by installing water-gas shift reaction was also investigated. Gross and net power generation, efficiency and the efficiency penalty by CO2 capture process were calculated. Heat duty for CO2 capture process and CO2 compression conditions were varied, and those effects on the efficiency penalty were obtained. The results provide a guideline for development of CO2 capture process of power plants.

    The objective of this study was to develop a particle treatment system with size selectivity by introducing plasma into a cyclone, which is a solid-gas separation device. Polyethylene particles were treated by the cyclone fabricated with a 3D printer based on 3D numerical fluid dynamics calculations including particle behavior. The plasma was generated at the specific location in the cyclone where particles with specific sizes were supposed to pass through. As a result, only particles with diameters of 5 to 10 μm were spheronized, indicating the size selectivity of the treatment. Furthermore, when the relationship between the cyclone inlet and plasma position was changed, the amount of the treatment decreased significantly, indicating that the selectivity depended on the plasma position. It was concluded that the plasma cyclone proposed here is a novel particle treatment system with size selectivity.

    The purpose of the research is to develop and investigate a novel particle coating process using a combination of gliding arc discharge and spouted bed condition with a solid precursor. In this process, two kinds of particles, one of which behaves as the solid precursor for conductive coating, were installed in the bed. The experimental results showed that conductive coating was successful. The effects of several process parameters related to the gliding arc discharge and spouted bed on coating behaviors were investigated and the coating mechanism was proposed. In conclusion, the proposed novel particle coating process showed a promising future for the particle coating application.

    The purpose of the research is to accelerate biodiesel fuel synthesis with high efficiency by introducing oil mist with pulsed electrical discharge to provide three phases reaction field including methanol vapor, oil mist and heterogeneous catalyst. The results showed that the pulsed electrical discharge showed positive results, however the introduction of the discharge was not suitable due to by-product formation. The injection of the oil mist including the catalysts into methanol vapor indicated high performance for the synthesis because of the increase in the interface between the oil and methanol vapor as well as high temperature over methanol boiling point, concluding that the proposed method using the mist was promising for rapid biodiesel fuel synthesis under atmospheric pressure at high temperature.

    The purpose of the research is to accelerate biodiesel fuel synthesis using electrical discharge in liquid reactant under ultrasonic irradiation, aiming to novel biodiesel fuel production process having advantages of fast, high-efficient and waste-less. The experiments were carried out with heterogeneous alkali catalysts which are also effective for promoting the reaction rate of biodiesel fuel production. The results showed that the reaction rate was enhanced by the electrical discharge in the reactant with the catalyst and argon injection under ultrasonic irradiation, confirming the synergy effect of the discharge and ultrasound. From the present research, the innovative reaction field generated by the combination of ultrasonic irradiation and electrical discharge in liquid will lead to the next-generation technology on biodiesel fuel production process as well as the development of plasma chemistry and application of liquid phase reactions.

    The purpose of the research was to develop the detoxication process for exhaust gas containing airborne asbestos by microwave plasma under atmospheric pressure. The experimental treatments of airborne asbestos and their imitated ceramic materials resulted in the change of their shape and composition, suggesting the effectiveness of this treatment process. The study also proposed the effective layout of this process for exhaust gas from bulk asbestos treatment system.

    この研究では、我々がこれまで行ってきたマイクロプラズマリアクターによる有機化合物の革新的反応法の研究をさらに発展させ、反応ガスの周期的変動操作とプラズマのOn-Off制御を同期させる非定常操作を触媒の導入と共に行うことにより、マイクロプラズマリアクターが持つ特徴を効果的に発揮させ、この反応解析を通して、マイクロプラズマリアクターの有する特徴を明確に示すことで、新しいプラズマ化学反応操作であるマイクロプラズマリアクター技術の基礎学理の確立を目的とするものである。今年度はプロヒレンの水素化実験を中心に行った。触媒にはアルミナに担持したニッケルを利用した。実験の操作条件は、非定常操作の周期、プラズマの印加電庄、供給ガスの流量であり、これらを変化させた時の転化率や選択率・収率に与える影響を調べた。プロピレン供給時にプラズマを発生させると、シロピレン転化率が電圧の増加に伴って上昇した。一方、水素供給時にプラズマを発生させても同様に電圧の増加によって転化率は上昇したが、プロピレン供給時のプラズマに比べて転化率の上昇は小さい結果となった。生成物の分析により、前者ではプラズマによるプロピレンの直接分解が起こっていることがわかった。また、後者ではプラズマによる触媒反応の促進が示された。触媒反応のシミュレーションを用いて反応器内の濃度分布の経時変化を検証した結果、水素供給時のプラズマは、気相水素と吸着したプロピレンの反応速度を上昇させると推測された。本研究を総括し、マイクロプラズマリアクターにおける周期的変動操作とプラズマの導入は、新しい反応場を提供するポテンシャルを十分に秘めていると考えられた。

    この研究は、微少空間に大気圧非平衡プラズマを生成させたマイクロプラズマリアクター用いて、有機化合物の革新的な部分酸化反応法を開発することを目的としたものである。マイクロリアクターの特徴である精密な温度や滞留時間の制御と、プラズマの特徴である反応活性化の両効果により、目的とする選択的部分酸化が達成できると期待された。昨年度の成果も含めこれまでの研究により、ベンゼンやトルエンからフェノールやクレゾールの合成を無触媒下で成功し、マイクロプラズマリアクターの有効性を示した。そして生成物の分析から、反応は、芳香環やその官能基の酸化と開裂に大きく分けられると推測された。そこで今年度はこの反応機構の解明を行うことにより、マイクロプラズマリアクターの特徴を明確化することを目的とした。機構解明には数値解析を用い、これによりプラズマ中の生成化学種の挙動解析とプラズマパラメータをはじめとする反応条件の影響を考察した。電子を含む78の化学種と349の素反応をプラグフローモデルに導入し、商用ソフトにて解析した。その結果、モデルは滞留時間に対するベンゼン転化率の上昇や最適値が表れるフェノール収率の挙動を説明した。特にフェノール合成には、酸素分子への電子衝突による酸素ラジカルが大きく寄与する一方で、電子による分解も無視できないことがわかった。さらに推測されたとおり、ベンゼンも電子による開裂が無視できず、これらによって生じるフェニル、フェノキシラジカルなどからの安定な重合物の生成が予測された。シミュレーションのパラメータスタディにより、高電子温度、高酸素濃度、高反応器温度はフェノール収率を向上させる一方で、電子密度は収率に大きな影響は与えなかった。またフェノールの電子開裂反応を抑えることが出きれば、収率向上に最も有効な手段であることも推測された。

    Hydrogen production by gasoline reforming has been studied with microwave steam plasma under atmospheric pressure aiming to the development of hydrogen supply system for fuel cell automobiles. First, we carried out the experiments on the ignition and stability of the steam plasma and found that argon gas was suitable to ignite the plasma, while tangential injection of steam stabilized the plasma. Then the reforming experiments were performed using n-hexane and i-octane as models of gasoline. The optical emission analyses of the plasma confirmed the dissociations of steam and hydrocarbons. The products gases contained carbon monoxide and hydrogen in high concentrations, suggesting that the plasma reforming was succeeded. The evaluation on the reforming process was also carried out using a process simulator with the experimental data. The results indicated that the energy transfer efficiency was too low and modifications of the system including plasma torch were required. In conclusion, the following features of the present method have been confirmed; (1)the miniaturization of the system is feasible considering the size of the plasma system, (2)high stability and durability as well as easy maintenance on the reforming could be attained due to unnecessity of catalysts, (3 fast response and start-up can be achieved because reforming reactions take place immediately in the plasma, (4)various carbonous materials can be used, (5)High concentration of hydrogen can be provided and efficient production of hydrogen per unit of materials can be achieved.

    In this project, we have studied the following two subjects, which is required to make the plasma decontamination process, which we have suggested, practicable. (1)To demonstrate the plasma decontamination process by using practical atmospheric pressure plasma. (2)To develop the process safety assessment method and to assess its process safety.
    In the former subject, we generated the atmospheric-pressure non-equilibrium plasma by using rare gases and CF_4/O_2 mixture and we carried out some experiments of removal of cobalt oxide film stained on the stainless steel plate surface. The atmospheric -pressure non-equilibrium plasma generated here had two operation modes, atmospheric pressure glow discharge and dielectric burner discharge, depending on its discharge conditions. The decontamination characteristics under each mode and various conditions were made clear. In the case of Mel CF_4/O_2 gas mixture plasma the fluorination reaction proceeds sufficiently at 180-200 degree C and almost of cobalt oxide was converted into its fluoride within 5 minutes. The fluoride could be flush out easily by water and it could indicate the possibility of practical use of this process.
    In the latter subject, we made modeling of processes of fine particle generation and its growth, adding to the evaporation of metal, which takes place in the plasma process. And also we developed the numerical calculation code to simulate a series of process which appears in the plasma process. By using this code we calculated the characteristics of fine particles generated in the plasma process. By adding to its code a collecting process by various air filter, furthermore, we completed a series of the process for the estimation process estimate the amount of fine particles which were released into the environment without collecting. Consequently, we could develop a method to obtain information fo safety assessment of the plasma decontamination technique.

    The treatment of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) was carried out using atmospheric silent discharge. The catalyst was put on the electrode and the effect of the interaction between plasma and catalyst on the decomposition was examined. Methanol and benzene was used as a model of VOCs. The conversions of both methanol and benzene were increased with applied voltage and gas residence time without catalyst. The decomposition rate constant was related with discharge power affected by both applied voltage and electrode gap. The catalyst used here was Pt loading catalyst supported by alumina. The catalytic decomposition was not observed without plasma. However the decomposition was promoted by the catalyst under the discharge condition. Higher enhancement was observed at lower concentration of benzene. The effect of the amount of Pt loading was not apparently observed. The main product gases were carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide. The trace of phenol was detected by GC-MS, however the other toxic substances were not observed. Much amount of ozone was produced by the discharge. The ozone, however, is not considered to affect the decomposition. The deactivation of the catalyst was observed in the benzene decomposition because of the formation of yellow solid materials deposited on the catalyst. The deactivation proceeded faster for smaller Pt loading catalyst. The vanadium oxide was also investigated as the catalyst. The results also showed the enhancement of the decomposition of benzene without the deactivation of the catalyst. The research summarized that the silent discharge with the catalyst was effective method for the control of VOCs in low concentration without much power consumption.

    A special feature of our microwave heated plasma generator has been shown as a source of high concentration reactive atoms in the discharge of molecular gases. The mixed feed gas which is consists of CF_4 arid O_2 and flow rates was used for decontamibnation experiments, considering the stability of microwave discharge and the efficiency of radical generation into account And also the input power of microwave about 1.5 kW was chosen. As the substance which is decontaminated cobbalt oxide was used. Some drops of the solution of cobalt nitride with known concentration was dropped on a sample stainless steal plate (SUS304). After the weight drops was measured precisely, the plate was heated up to 500 。C and maintained at the same temp earature during 1 hour. Thus the black colored spot of cobalt oxide stained on the plate. For the measurements of cobalt ICP was used after dissolved into HCl solution. As a result, cobalt can be removed from the surface almost -100% at 250 seconds of decontamination time. Obtained decontamination efficiency is higher than reference value in the cobalt decontamination experiments which was carried out in low pressure. Also thermody namic modelling calculation was carried out for other elements, namely, Lanthanide (La, Gd) and Actinide (U,Pu) and the possibility of this application was described. From these results it was concluded that the method which we suggested is very powerful and has a large potential for practical use.

    ケミカルヒートポンプはフロンを用いない省エネ機関として研究開発がなされている。パラアルデヒド系ヒートポンプは、圧縮式ヒートポンプに化学反応を加えた新しいシステムである。本システムの平衡論的検討をした結果、成績係数(COP)が圧縮式ヒートポンプと同程度であった。パラアルデヒドは酸触媒上で低沸点化合物のアセトアルデヒドに分解し冷熱を発生する。本システムではこの反応熱を冷熱発生に利用する。そこで、パラアルデヒドからアセトアルデヒドへの解重合速度および反応機構を調べ、システム効率および実用性に対する反応速度の影響を検討した。パラアルデヒドの解重合速度は微分式反応器を用いて測定した。反応速度は、液相中のアセトアルデヒドの濃度が増加するにつれ減少する。吸熱反応器の触媒当たり冷熱発生速度を高めるには、吸熱反応器内の圧力を低く保ち液相中のアセトアルデヒド濃度を低くする必要がある。しかし吸熱反応器内の圧力を低くすると、圧縮機の仕事が高くなるばかりでなく未反応で蒸発するパラアルデヒドが増加するため、COPは低下する。冷熱発生側13℃、廃熱側40℃としたときR22を用いた圧縮式ヒートポンプのCOPは5.5である。本システムで同値のCOPを得る場合、反応速度6.4×10^<-2>mol(kg-cat.^<-1>)s^<-1>、吸熱量0.90kW、必要触媒量92gとなる。ただし、発熱反応器圧力82kPa、循環流量1.0gs^<-1>とした。この値は使用したAmberlyst 15Eの酸強度(-2.2)に依っている。これより強い酸強度の触媒を用いることによりシステムを改善できる。

    We proposed a new decomposition method using thermal plasma fluidized bed reactor for recovery and destruction for halogenated organic compounds including CFC's. This technique was to distract halogenated organic compounds in the Ar thermal plasma and recover halogen component in the fluidized bed.
    Chloromethane (CH_3Cl) was used as the simplest model of halogenated organic compounds. The decomposition was carried out with oxygen suggested by thermodynamic calculations. The Ar thermal plasma obtained by DC arc discharge was used for fluidized medium, CaO particle and CaCO_3particle for the fluidized bed. Hydrogen chloride gas formed as one of the decomposed products was reacted with CaO and CaCO_3 and fixed as CaCl_2 in the fluidized bed reactor. Chlorine element in the particle was measured with ion-meter. The experimental results showed that chloromethane was perfectly decomposed and the chlorine component was recovered in high efficiency when using CaO particle. However in case of CaCO_3 particle, the recovery was not sufficient owing to deference of reaction rate and particle form. According to analysis using electron microscope, these particles were composed small grains. CaO reacted rapidly at surface layr, however CaCO_3 reacted slowly in particle uniformly.
    Freon12 (CCl_2F_2) used as refrigerant was decomposed. The decomposition was carried out with oxygen and hydrogen, and CaO particle for the fluidized bed. Hydrogen chloride gas and hydrogen fluoride gas formed as the decomposed products were reacted with CaO particle and fixed as CaCl_2 and CaF_2 in the fluidized bed reactor. Chlorine and fluorine element in particle were measured with ion-chromatography. In the beginning of the reaction, chlorine element was fixed as mainly CaCl_2. Rapidly as the time proceeds, the recover of chlorine element was decrease. The other side, recovery of fluorine element fixed as CaF_2 was maintained about 0.4from the commencement of the reaction. From these results, in order to improve the low conversion of particle, continuous particle operation and increasing temperature of fluidized bed were proposed.

    現在ヒートポンプは省エネルギー技術の一つとして、冷蔵庫や空調機器など様々なところで利用されている。しかし最近は環境問題の点から、フロンを用いないケミカルヒートポンプ(CHP)が注目されている。本研究では冷熱発生用CHPへの利用として、アセタール加水分解反応に着目した。
    アセタール加水分解反応は、アセタールと水からエタノールとアセトアルデヒドが生成する。この反応は吸熱反応であり、その反応速度は低温においても速い。またこの反応をCHPに利用する場合、この液相反応の反応熱だけを冷熱発生に利用する。なおこの反応には酸触媒が必要であるが、本研究では反応器の腐食の問題がなく、反応後の溶液からの分離が容易である固体酸触媒を用いた。またサイクルを組んだ場合、分離に必要なエネルギーには工場排熱を利用することを考えている。
    アセタール加水分解反応のエタノールの影響について調べた。この反応は、はじめ二相に分離していた反応溶液が、時間が経つにつれて生成物であるエタノールの割合が増えてくると、一相に溶け合い、その結果反応速度が速くなる。そのためCHPに利用する場合には、吸熱側反応器に入る前の反応溶液は、あらかじめ一相にしておいた方が有利であることがわかった。またこの反応の律速段階を決定した。この反応は大きく四段階に分けられる。既往の研究結果および、Langmuir-Hinshelwood機構を仮定した反応速度式と反応速度実験の結果から、中間生成物であるヘミアセタールの生成過程を律速段階と決定した。そしてこのときの反応速度式の中の各定数を、最小2乗法を用いた回帰計算により求めた。また各定数をアレニウスプロットしたグラフから、それぞれの活性化エネルギーと頻度因子について求めた。またこの反応系をCHPに利用した場合の例として、分離に蒸留を用いた場合の成績係数の計算を行い、サイクルを組んだ場合について検討を行った。

    フロンなどの有害廃棄物の処理問題は、地球環境保護の面から早急に解決しなくてはならない問題の一つである。多くの廃棄物にはフロンのようにハロゲン元素を含んでおり、これらの元素はハロゲン化水素として回収することが後処理などの関係から好ましいとされている。さらに処理法の条件として高い分解効率と低い有害副生成物の排出があげられ、これらの条件を満たす方法に熱プラズマ分解法がある。熱プラズマは高温、高活性であり、廃棄物は完全に分解し、熱力学的に安定な生成物が生成しやすい。そこでこの研究では、酸化カルシウムを流動粒子として用いた熱プラズマ流動層を利用し、有害廃棄物を分解することを試みた。当初、計画では分解対象をフロンと想定したが、フロンにはCl,Fの二種のハロゲンを含むため、ここではまず一種のハロゲンを含む最も簡単な炭化水素である塩化メチル(CH_3Cl)を取り上げた。一方、流動粒子には酸化カルシウム(CaO)を用い生成したHClをCaO粒子で直接回収し、生成排ガスを清浄化することを試みた。つまりこの方法では、塩化メチルの分解と生成したHClの回収が同時に行われることになり、従来のHCl処理に用いられる湿式回収器が必要ない。研究ではまず熱力学計算を行い、分解には酸素を添加する必要があることが示唆された。したがって実験では酸素を添加して行い、その結果塩化メチルは100%分解した。生成ガスはCO,CO_2,HCl,H_2O,H_2であり、酸素の量によって煤やCl_2の生成が検出された。CaO粒子によるClの回収率は分解開始数分間はほぼ100%であったが、その後分解時間とともに減少した。回収部に関してCaOとHClの不均一反応を含む簡単なモデルをたて数値解析を行い、これにより回収率の減少はCaO粒子内の生成物層拡散律速のためと考えられた。以上の結果より、この分解法の有効性が示唆された。

    The purpose of the research is to teat flyash produced from a incinerator and to recover metal resources from the flyash using a reactive thermal plasma. As a fundamental study, five kinds of metal oxides were treated by the thermal argon plasma with the addition of four kinds of gases. The reaction mechanisms between the reactive plasma and metal oxides were estimated by considering the analyzes of products and residual sample, and calculation of Gibbs' free energy change. The results showed that the reaction passes were classified according to the following reaction ; thermal decomposition in the sample, surface reaction, thermal decomposition in gas phase, reaction in gas phase. The further study was carried out to elucidate the reaction mechanisms. Magnesia, silica and alumina were chosen as a metal oxide and hydrogen was added into the thermal argon plasma. In the treatments of magnesia and silica, hydrogen addition enhanced the decrease in the oxide samples. The weight decreasing rate was in proportion to the root of hydrogen concentration and the intensity of hydrogen atom emission, suggesting hydrogen atom took part in the reaction. Magnesium was recovered from the plasma treatment of magnesia, however silicon was not recovered from silica. According to the consideration of the experimental results, equilibrium compositions, and surface temperature, the reaction mechanisms was proposed including the deoxidation and evaporation. In alumina treatment, no weight change in the sample was observed because alumina was thermodynamically stable at estimated surface temperature. The study will be continued using mixed metal oxide samples and finally the recovery process in the plasma treatment of flyash will be proposed.

  • 熱プラズマ噴流層による廃PET材の処理と再資源化

    様々な飲料用ボトルとして、PET(ポリエチレンテレフタレート)が大量に使用されている。このPETゴミはその使用量に対応して年々増加傾向にあり、リサイクル品の対象にもなっている。この研究ではこの廃PET材を高温、高活性な熱プラズマを利用した熱プラズマ噴流層を用いて処理し、可燃性ガスやPET中に触媒として含まれているゲルマニウムを回収することを目的とした。まず熱プラズマ噴流層を作成した。そして噴流状態を、不活性な炭化珪素粒子を用いて調べた。その結果、噴流層内の温度はプラズマの当たるフレーム部付近は1500℃程度であった。また高さ方向に温度分布は減少する傾向にあった。なお、炭化珪素粒子の粒径が小さいため、粒子がガスに同伴されたり、粒子の量が多いとバブリングを起こすといった問題が生じた。このフレーム部での温度を用いてPET分解の平衡組成を計算した。その結果、固体炭素が生成しない条件での平衡組成では、一酸化炭素、アセチレン、エチレン、メタンが多く生成すると予想された。一方、固体炭素が生成する条件下では、一酸化炭素、水素、固体炭素が主生成物と考えられた。実際にPETを噴流層で分解した結果、噴流層からは煤状のものが大量に発生した。このため、生成ガスの分析は困難となった。分解後の噴流層内を観察するとPET粒子の周囲が溶け、粒子同士が固まって大きな塊状のものが形成されていた。また表面が白色から黒く変色していた。この原因として、使用した粒子が大きいため粒子があまり動かず、熱にさらされた部分のみが分解または溶融し、周囲の粒子と結合したためと考えられた。したがって今後、生成ガス、固体生成物の分析を行うとともに、粒子流動化の改善のための噴流層の設計変更、煤生成抑制の為の水素や酸素の添加等を検討する必要がある考えられた。

    In 1990, two studies were constructed for formation of ultra-fine particle (UFP). One was the formation of UFP with treatment of metal (Ti, AI) substrate on the anode of a dc arc discharge. The products and conditions of the formation were studied in two cases adding nitrogen or hydrogen as a reactive gas to the plasma supporting argon gas. Two was rf argon plasma and al-uminum powder system which reacts with oxygen added to the argon plasma gas. This was carried out numerically with the model similar to a combustion of liquid droplet.
    There are two major problems in the development of functionally gradient material (FGM) with our method ; low yield of UFP and smooth gradient of composition. In 1991, these were mostly examined about the system of aluminum particle and argon/oxygen rf plasma flow. The former was speculated by numerical solution about the flow fields and estimation of ultra-fine particle sticking to wall, and a reaction tube design was adopted for a high yield. Moreover, a sheath gas flew along the reaction tube wall and got a high yield when oxygen gas was used as a sheath gas. The latter, particularly metal to ceramics ratio (here, aluminum to alumina) was solved by adjustment of the flow rate of oxygen addition to the plasma and/or sheath gases. Produced alumina were alpha, gamma, delta, rheta-alumina. These composition was fairly constant in the most cases. This construction control still remain to be solved in future.

    The decomposition of CCl_2F_2 was studied using a thermal argon plasma. Thermodynamic calculations were performed to obtain the informations about the products. In the calculations, 73 species were considered in the four kinds of the reaction systems : C-Cl-F-Ar, C-Cl-F-H-Ar, C-Cl-F-O-Ar, and C-Cl-F-H-O-Ar which respectively corresponded to CCl_2F_2 decomposition without gas addition, with H_2, with O_2, and with H_2 and O_2 or H_2O. The results indicated that the simultaneous addition of H_2 and O_2 was effective for the decomposition of CCl_2F_2 since HF, HCL, and CO_2 or CO were dominant in C-Cl-F-H-O-Ar reaction system.
    The numerical calculations were also performed in C-Cl-F-H-O-Ar reaction system with the assumptions of one dimensional flow, 26 species, and 60 step reactions. The results showed as follows : CCl_2F_2 was decomposed rapidly. When the reaction gases of CCl_2F_2, H_2, and O_2 were fed in the ratios 1 : 2 : 1, the product gases consisted of CO, CO_2, H_2, HF, HCl, and Cl_2, which was similar to the results of the water addition. An excess of H_2 suppressed the formation of Cl_2. While CO, HF, and HCL were produced when the ratio of CCl_2F_2 : H_2 : O_2 was 1 : 2 : 0.5.
    The experimental studies were carried out using Ar plasma jet generated by d. c. arc discharge at atmospheric pressure. The experimental results showed that CCl_2F_2 was completely decomposed and converted to CO and CO_2 with the addition of H_2 and O_2. However the conversions about the components of Cl and F were not investigated, thus the further analyses must be carried out.
    These results mentioned above confirmed that the thermal plasma methods was useful to decompose CCl_2F_2 rapidly and abundantly.

    目的はおよそ373K以下の低温熱源を昇温再利用するために、イソブチレン/水/第三ブチルアルコ-ル反応系を用いたケミカルヒ-トポンプを開発することである。本年度は速度論的検討より本ヒ-トポンプシステムの性能を評価した。
    (1)イソブチレン水和反応速度の測定
    イソブチレン水和反応を陽イオン交換樹脂触媒を用いて本ヒ-トポンプに必要な反応条件で速度を測定した。測定結果より、反応はLangmuirーHinshelwod機構にもとずく表面反応律速とイソブチレン、水の競争吸着で説明できた。測定結果をもとに反応速度式を提出した。
    (2)第三ブチルアルコ-ル脱水反応速度の測定
    第三ブチルアルコ-ル脱水反応を陽イオン交換樹脂触媒によって、本ヒ-トポンプに必要な反応条件で行い反応速度を測定した。測定結果より、反応はイソブチレン水和反応の逆反応としてLangmuirーHinshelwod機構で説明できた。測定結果をもとに反応速度式を提出した。
    (3)本ケミカルヒ-トポンプシステムの速度論的検討
    得られた両反応速度式をもとにシステムの速度論的検討を行った。吸熱・発熱操作を各1回行ったときの1サイクルあたりの両反応の所要時間と熱出力を計算した。その結果、まず吸熱・発熱反応所要時間の比は8〜10吸熱反応に時間がかかった。この吸熱反応の律速性を克服するために連続式システムを提案した。ついで発熱反応器からの熱出力速度、および蓄熱量は既往のヒ-トポンプ、蓄熱材と同程度かそれ以上であった。以上より、このシステムは熱需要に対して柔軟に対応ができ、かつ高効率に熱変換が可能であることが明らかになった。
